When was the last time you spent quality time with yourself?
I recently went on a solo trip. It was unintentional; I was looking forward to a big trip with a friend, but a bad cold kept her home and I was too excited to cancel the trip entirely.
I took the change as a sign from the universe that I needed to spend more meaningful time with myself. To listen to my wants and needs and most importantly… to be nice to myself.
The way I see it, if I had a friend and we only ever hung out in groups, I think I would have a hard time forming a deep connection with them. So, if we never spend intentional time with ourselves (I say intentional so we don’t count working or like… sleeping), it will be more difficult to truly understand ourselves and feel our best.
It’s not always easy or comfortable. I’ve gone on a few solo trips now and I’ve learned a lot from the experiences, to the point where I crave the time to myself. I encourage you to explore the resources below, the first one being a post I wrote on how you can embrace solo experiences one step at a time.
